The Ng’iya fraternity have often dreamt, envisioned and planned this day with passion because of the belief that any person who have been a student in this institution, left with and have been shrouded with passion and the vision that they would want to make Ng’iya a better place than they found it, because Ng’iya touched and changed their lives significantly. Our motto “Build on the rock” says it al, it is definitely cast in stone, that one’s life and destiny must be shaped by encounter with the school, as I believe those who have been here will testify. Just to remind us, the school – Motto Vision Mission They give us motivation to forge a head to produce a God fearing and hole some students who will not only be Kenyan citizens but global citizens, like some of our Alumnae have become. It is with vision to be a Center of Excellence that the idea of Ng’iya Girls’ High School Complex Project was born. A building that would house a six stream school comprising of: a. 38 classrooms And if in future the second floor could be incorporated fully, dormitories could be availed at this floor accommodating 1,000 and above learners. It being a huge project of Kshs 169 million, it would be undertaken in phases. The government jumpstarted it when the school was elevated by the District Education Board as a center of Excellence and a model scheme. Under the Government Economic Stimulus Project, Kshs 30Million was disbursed which went to beginning of the whole substructure/foundation and completed five functional classrooms as a part of phase 1(a). Phase 1(b) would be the roofing of the phase 1(a ). The management recognized and appreciated the magnitude of the project and have identified various sources of funding, including but not limited to parents collections, school harambees, donations from various Agencies and well wishers among others. It is in the same spirit that we felt we could incorporate our Alumnae too, to join us in this task of transforming and face-lifting the face of Ng’iya girls High school, may be they could take a phase and work on it or whichever is convenient for them. We would also want for Alumnae outside Kenya to network the school with other schools globally for educational exchange project. Currently the student population 910. There are five streams Form I to III and the fourth class is still four streams. Teachers population of 43 and other staff population of 38. Our school performance have been steadily rising over the years as the staff and the students still maintain the vision of excellence in their duties and responsibilities, this too have been due to excellence cooperation of the school Board of Governors, P.T.A, Education officers, stakeholders like D.E.B, friends of the school and community at large. Therefore let me take this chance to welcome all the Ng’iya alumnae to come back and give to Ng’iya what Ng’iya gave to them, those many years. Unity is strength and together we can transform Ng’iya Girls High into the School of choice and centre of excellence. Be blessed abundantly where god Almighty have placed you in life. FLORENCE A. OMONDI OKUT PRINCIPAL AND SECRETARY TO THE P.T.A/B.O.G |
